Residential New Builds, Start to Finish

A new build is the biggest job most of our clients will ever commission, so we run it the same way regardless of size: one point of contact, a clear scope before anything starts, and a team that's still the one turning up on day 200 that turned up on day one. That's Connor Thompson leading the job personally, with site foremen Michael Doody and Vaughn Atkins running the day-to-day, and apprentices Morgan Brown, Lukas Brown and Hamish Timms coming through the ranks on site.

We build across Christchurch, Selwyn and North Canterbury, from straightforward three and four bedroom homes through to architecturally designed builds working alongside your own architect or designer. Every new build is covered by our LBP licence (LBP139411), full insurance, and a 5 year warranty from handover. Once your new build is finished, plenty of clients come back to us for decking and pergolas or a future renovation down the track.

Every new build we run covers the same core stages, whether it's a straightforward plan or something architecturally designed.

Groundworks, foundations and slab or pile work specific to your site and soil conditions.

Wall framing, roof trusses and structural work, built to the specifications in your consented plans.

Cladding & Roofing

Cladding (James Hardie, cedar, LMA or other timber claddings) and roofing installed and weathertight before internal fit-out begins.

Interior Fit-Out

Linings, joinery and finishing trades coordinated through to a lock-up-ready and then move-in-ready home.

Final Sign-Off

Council inspections through to Code Compliance Certificate, and a final walkthrough with you before handover.

How We Contract

Two Ways to Build: Supply and Install, or Labour Only

Most clients want us to run the whole job: we supply the materials, manage the trades, and hand over a finished home. Some clients come to us with their own architect's plans or materials already sourced, and want us to do the building. Neither option changes the licence, the insurance, or the warranty behind the work.

Supply and Install

We source the materials, manage the trades, and hand over a finished home. This is the most common way we work, and the simplest for most clients.

Labour Only

You've got your own architect's plans, your own materials already sourced, or a project you want to manage yourself with us doing the building. We run it the same way we'd run any other job: properly, on schedule, and to the same standard.

As a registered Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP139411), Connor is legally accountable for the building work on your job, and every stage is inspected to the standard the council expects.

Already Got an Architect or Designer? We'll Build to Their Plans

If you're working with your own architect or designer, we can come in as your builder, whether that's a full supply and install contract or labour only. We work directly with your architect and engineer through the consent and build process, so the design you've paid for gets built the way it was drawn.

We don't publish set prices for new builds, since no two are the same. The main variables are the size and footprint of the home, the number of storeys, your site conditions (slope, soil, access), the specification level of materials and fittings, whether it's a standard plan or an architecturally designed build, and whether you want a full supply and install contract or labour only. Do you handle council consent?

Yes. As a registered Licensed Building Practitioner, Connor manages the consent pathway and inspections through to Code Compliance Certificate as part of the build.
